In 1987, the company was founded under the name "Elbistan Hırdavat" to sell Hardware.
In 1993, due to demand from export markets, broadened its product range by adding electrical materials in its portfolio;
In 1996, started manufacture of electrical materials and in two years, having increased its export and manufacture capacity, changed its name as ELBİ Electric Import and Export Industrial Trade Ltd. Co.;
In 2002, moved to its modern manufacturing site in Arnavutköy;
In 2005, Changed its name as ELBİ Electrics Import and Export Industrial Trade Co.,
In 2006, ELBİ Electrics International Trade & Industry Co. was established,
In 2007, ELBİ became a joint venture company on aggreement with Ahlstrom Capital.
In 2010, Ukranian subsidiary office was opened.
In 2011; Russia subsidiary office was opened and Region offices were opened.
In 2013; ELBİ became 100% Ahlström Capital company with acquisition of all shares
It's core business is manufacture of switches & sockets, fuse boxes and accessories, Offers its service under ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certificate.
ALHSTROM IN BRIEF

Ahlstrom that is constructed in 1851 have grown up by purchasing and new investments and progressed to the present day by following the developments on the world.
Chronological order
1861 - The firm Ahlstrom was founded.
1866 - 1874 - Ship transportation was the main job area of Anti Ahlström.
1870 - Antti Ahlström has become the main industrialist.
1880 - The firm Ahlstrom has expanded with the purchase of 18 sawing workshops.
1900 - Ahlstrom set up the Kauttua wood factory.
1915 - Ahlstrom purchased the Karhula works in Finland.
1921 - Started paper manufactory for the first time with four modern cellulose factories.
1940 - The engineering capacity of Ahlstrom was made use of in the 1st World War. More than 60% of the orders were for armed forces.
1945 - Employed 11.000 workers and became the main industrial power in Europe and was the center of the war preparation works.
1950 - All of the production facilities of the firm were modernized by using the last technology.
1963 - Purchased the big holding company in Italian paper industry. - Cartiere Giacomo Bosso S.p.A
1970 - Extended the pane wool enterprises.
1980 - Progressed from cast paper to special paper.
1990 - As the firm strategy improved, special papers were concentrated on. The purchase of the French firm Sibille Dalle had made contribution to this process.
2000 - Purchased the nonwoven textile manufacturing organs of the firm Dexter Cooperation in USA Windsor Locks, Chirnside in England and Ställdalen in Sweden. The improved paper manufacturing facility of Ascoli was also purchased in Italy.
2001 - The group was divided into three separate companies: manufacturing was assigned to new Ahlstrom Cooperation. Private investment company Ahlström Capital Oy was founded. Ahlström Osakeyhtio took over the real estate and forest reserves of the family.
2002 - 16 million Euros of investments were made in Germany Osnabrück to make the firm become the leader of the market in wallpaper and poster paper procuring business. A second manufacturing factory was constructed in South Korea and a filtering factory was constructed in Spain Capellades.
2003 - A reconstruction program was started inside a production line in Italy Turin and 38 million Euros were invested for a new composite line in USA Windsor Lock.
2004 - A world wide packaging firm Sonoco has combined its paper based essences, tubes and axis pipe carton manufacturing and sales operations in Europe and has joined to the Ahlstrom ranks. (Sonoco-Alcore partnership)
2005 - Purchased over the absorbent/drying paper job from Fibermark in USA and filtering job from Lantor (USA&China).
2006 - Ahlstrom has started process in Helsinki Securities and Bonds Exchange in March. On the other hand, it has expanded over the fiber glass nonwoven materials production by purchasing HRS Textile which is a nonwoven special textile materials manufacturer. Investments in Brazil, France and England to improve the nonwoven capacity.
2007 - The purchases have put their mark in the first year of the year: The micro glass fiber tools manufacturer Fabriano Filter Media Spa from Orlandi Group and the consumption erasers job of Fiberweb Plc. were purchased. On the other hand, a cooperative enterprise agreement was made with Votorantim Celulose e Papel in Brazil for the manufacturing of special paper.
